    Lots of DoA LEDs

    I have used about 50 of these so far, and have a single complaint: out of the 50 or so LEDs I have used, I’ve had 6 defectives. At that rate, slightly more than 10% of these have been duds. Unacceptable at any price!

    Dim/not Bright

    The green and yellow aren’t very bright compared to another set I own; which makes them useless for my project. The other colors are bright and the case is nice.

    Good, except the white isn’t diffused

    All of the colors are diffused except white, which is not. Considering the title said diffused, I assumed they all were, which is unfortunate because I mostly wanted this for the white LEDs right now. Still a good kit in general, though.

    Green and yellow don’t work.

    The yellow and green leds don’t work how they’re supposed to, they both shine more red than green or yellow for some reason, all the other ones work fine though.

    All green leds are dim. The rest are good

    Most are ok. The green ones are so dim I can barely tell they’re on unless it’s very dark. The others are all fine.

    Not Bright

    All of the bulbs arrived working and nicely organized however, they are not very bright. I even used a very low value resistor but they just couldn’t compare with the LEDs that I already owned.

    Voltage is off, test before using, here’s my results

    This is a well-priced assortment of 5mm LED’s for use as indicator lights or other such purposes requiring a standard LED. These lights are voltage sensitive! They are dim at the low side and burn too hot at the high side of the recommended voltages, and the green LED’s operate much lower than indicated. so it’s best to test the LED’s beforehand. I burned out some bulbs testing them, here’s my results:White – works great, bright at 3.6VYellow burns at 2.3, operate at 2.1VGreen blows at 3.6, operate at 2.0V (above 2.0V it begins to burn, even at 2.1)Red dim and burns at 2.3, operate at 2.1VBlue works fine, bright at 3.6VYour results may differ so be sure to always test your lights before application.

    There is nothing wrong with the red LEDs – user error on the part of the other reviewer

    I’m writing this review to correct the other reviewer who thought 80% of his red LEDs were faulty.The forward voltage of the red and yellow ones is 1.8V-2.3V which is typical for these colors of LED.The forward voltage for each color is clearly shown in the product description, and also on the packaging of the LEDs (see first photo).As you can see in the second photo, my red LEDs seem to be working just fine. Please excuse the washed-out color in my rather poor photo. The LED is a nice ruby red in real life.

    Used for paper circuits in my classroom

    I used these in a 5th grade classroom to make paper circuits, they worked well and they’re cheap enough each student could make their own to take home.

    Very nice. Great price and great for breadboarding.

    I’ve been using them for a few weeks to display values a 24-bit bus and I’ve had no issues with them. Also work great for low voltage on a couple of 555 clock modules. I would recommend.

    Green LEDs are dim

    The green LEDs are very dim; it gives off a yellowish color instead of a green color.It doesn’t matter how little resistance I apply to it on my breadboard, it still comes out as a yellowish color.All the other LEDs are fine.

    You’ll have plenty of LEDS

    These LEDS are true 3mm and may be small but pack a bright light to any project. The only down side to this kit is there was not any diffused white LEDS in the kit, they are clear.

    some of the LEDs result in smoke

    These LEDs are rated for 2.8v-3.6v, but when i use the proper resistors, half of them just do not work. some of them start smoking. at least 80% of the red LEDs do not work.i guess i get what i paid for :/

    There’s probably no quality control at the factory where these are made

    60 percent of the LEDs didn’t work. The blue and white are ok, but all the yellow, green, and red were defective. Not worth to buy if more than half don’t work

    All the leds I’ve used worked never had a bad one. They’re able to get bright enough and there’s so many I accidently mixed piles. Only complaint is the case for them does not easily hold them separate
